The Program

The program aims to create opportunities for Emerging professionals, as defined for this program as “young and /or Early-career professionals interested in advancing in project management roles” who are enthusiastic about pursuing a career in Project Management.

 

The program will offer, after a competitive selection process ¸foundational training, which is PDU-Approved by the Project Management Institute (PMI), with participants mentored throughout the training and prepared for the Certified associate in project management (CAPM) exam. Selected candidates will be eligible for CAPM certification sponsorship.

 

Incorporating a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) component, the program aims to enhance career growth and ensure that professionals’ skills remain relevant.

General Objective

To equip emerging professionals in Ethiopia and Africa with globally recognized project management certifications, fostering enhanced employability and contributing to economic development through improved project execution and leadership skills.

Specific Objectives

  • Train 400 professionals annually, preparing them for the Fundamental Project Management certification that extends to CAPM exam.
  • Develop leadership and project execution skills, enhancing employability.
  • Offer practical learning experiences through case studies, internships, and simulations.
  • Provide ongoing career development through CPD.
  • Build a scalable model for project management and related training across Africa.

Target Audience

The program targets emerging professionals from diverse backgrounds, with a focus on inclusivity:

  • Recent university graduates in Ethiopia seeking to enhance employability.
  • Early-career professionals interested in advancing in project management roles.
  • Entrepreneurs managing large-scale projects in need of project management competencies.

The program includes specialized training designed to prepare participants for Project Management Foundational Certification Exams and fulfills eligibility for the CAPM exam and develop essential project management skills:

·         Foundational Project Management Training: PMI-PDU Approved, tailored to Ethiopia's context.

·         Advanced Project Management Concepts: Risk management, scheduling, monitoring, and control.

·         Soft Skills for Project Managers: Enhancing communication, leadership, and understanding business environment.

·         Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Workshops, webinars, and resources post-certification.

 Certification Pathways

Participants will undergo rigorous training, culminating in preparation for the CAPM exam. Selected Participants will receive sponsorship for certification fees, and additional mentoring will ensure successful exam completion.
